Most of our instructors and counselors are local residents. But the community of US Sailing certified instructors is relatively small, and programs like ours occasionally recruit instructors from outside the area. These instructors are not highly paid employees and cannot afford to incur local housing expenses for the eight weeks they must be available to the Program.
In past years members of the community have agreed to house instructors in spare rooms of their homes. This practice is consistent with other local sports organizations, such as the Aberdeen Ironbirds.
